Ms. Smith has a strong building and construction background. She has experience both in the public and private sectors, including consulting for jurisdictions and as a staff member for a City. She is an accomplished designer, project manager and consultant, with a detail and customer service orientation.

She was a Building Official for the City of Shoreline (population 53,000), between 2000 and 2005. She was responsible for supervising planners, building plans examiners, inspectors and administration staff. Responsibilities included overseeing the regulation of all building construction in the City. Ms. Smith owned her own consulting firm, and she also worked as the Town of Coupeville Planner and Building Official. She managed the department, provided current planning review, historical review, staff reports and presentations to Town Counsel and Commissioners.

Ms. Smith worked as a consultant for ICBC (now International Code Council – ICC), where she provided code interpretations to building officials and design professionals. She has performed plan check for significant projects, such as Redmond Town Center

She was promoted to Regional Manager for BSI (merged with Henigar and Ray) during her five years there. She performed structural design, drafting, and plan check for Mahan and Desalvo, Structural Engineers.

Ms. Smith has solid experience with Endelman & Associates performing FHA / ADA / Code Accessibility Design Reviews, Accessibility Site Observations during construction and ADA Surveys.
